Cognition installs stabilised pile mat delivering significant savings for client

Cognition carried out stabilisation and remediation works at a new commercial development at Brocklebank, Charlton. A stabilised pile mat was designed by Cognition for piling works to be delivered safely and swiftly, whilst providing a hard wearing surface for site traffic during the construction phase. The mat was also designed as a suitable sub base for the construction of the new car park saving significant costs of import and export of aggregates and reducing site traffic in a very busy area of London.

The works were carried out in accordance with a Materials Management Plan developed by Cognition that enabled the re-use of site won materials that might otherwise have been disposed of as non-hazardous soils. The project demonstrates the significant savings that can be delivered by developers whilst achieving high levels of sustainability.
