The Cognition sponsored horse, Zero Carbon was triumphant in the Unibet 7f handicap at Kempton Park on 14th June!
The 4yo has recently shown great signs of progress under the trainer and former champion jockey Richard Hughes at his stables in Lambourn, not too far from our Harwell Office. In an exciting race, Zero Carbon, held up by jockey Finley Marsh, found himself middle of the pack of 12 runners. He kept his cool, tracking the leaders for the first 5f but making a dramatic move 2f out to place himself next to the leading horses, favourite Shigar and the well fancied Tempo Star. Leaving the favourite behind and approaching the final furlong, he was neck and neck with Tempo Star, but his sheer determination saw him take the finish by a head. After the race, an animated Finley Marsh had nothing but praise for Zero Carbon, expecting us to see further improvements and success under Richard Hughes.
Cognition certainly have much in common with Richard. Meticulous planning, attention to detail and hard work always pays off!
