David Skinner (Contracts Manager) and the whole Cognition Land and Water team at our former Homebase site in Wandsworth have again been scored ‘Excellent’ in a recent Considerate Constructors Scheme audit of the site. This is the third audit of this particular site and you can see details of a previous audit here.
Cognition has been carrying out the remediation and earthworks of the former Homebase site and the adjacent B&Q site for a number of years. The works are being carried out on behalf of Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) who are developing the sites in their largest Build-to-Rent scheme to date. Our works have included building demolition, gas holder and base removal, ground and groundwater remediation, earthworks, soil stabilisation, groundworks, civils and infrastructure works.
In the audit, we obtained an ‘exceptional’ top-marks score of 9/9 in all five categories and an additional point for innovation. The categories audited were:
The additional score for innovation is particularly satisfying and centred around a novel solution we applied to the installation of deep drainage access chambers in close proximity to a perimeter, Network Rail retaining wall. More details of this solution are here.
