As our demolition, enabling and remediation works continue at the Former Pirbright Institute at Compton in Berkshire on behalf of Homes England, we have just had great news following a recent EA Radioactive Substances Activity Compliance Assessment inspection. Essentially, we passed with flying colours!
The EA officer was fully satisfied with the operations, management and record-keeping and reported no compliance issues or negative observations. Whilst the reporting process is very factual and not one that shouts praise, some of the comments included…
* This inspection did not identify any concerns with the management arrangements
* Security arrangements are satisfactory
* Records were clear and comprehensive, demonstrating permit compliance at the time of the inspection
* There are no non-compliances or recommendations from this inspection
This is a significant achievement for the team and the project and is a recognition of the thorough and partnering approach to the planning, implementation and recording of the works by all involved. Very well done to all the Cognition Land and Water Limited team at Compton, our radiological advisors Aurora Health Physics Services Ltd, our client Homes England, their project manager and technical advisors Arcadis, and all the others working hard to bring this site forward for beneficial use.
