The outcome of the inspection was an “Excellent” rating with an overall report score of 43/45, and “Excellent” scores on all three elements of the inspection; Respect for the Community, Care for the Environment, and Value their Workforce.

Working on behalf of Homes England and collaborating closely with project managers, Arcadis, Cognition is carrying out a full suite of enabling works at the site including demolition of 62 buildings, contamination remediation and earthworks to prepare the site for future residential development.

Some of the comments from the CCS inspector included:

• The site continues to manage the community, safety and environmental and workplace risks efficiently and effectively
• The site has demonstrated that they are conscientious and proactive towards any potential community impact
• There are established relationships and effective dialogue with the client and neighbouring community
• This is a complex site and the environmental hazards and risks continue to be effectively identified and managed
• The site is monitoring environmental based KPIs, including carbon emissions and waste
• The ecological impacts associated with this site are being well controlled
