In 2020, we adopted a Zero-Carbon Policy and by May 2021, we had become the first carbon-neutral contamination remediation and ground engineering contractor in the UK.

We recognise that the greatest contribution we can make to reducing our carbon emissions is through the work we do for our clients. Some examples of the innovative practices we have implemented to enable us to complete our works sustainably include:

• Developing and applying innovative and novel technologies that are energy efficient and target specific contaminants such as our proprietary FabEx extraction system that directly removes free product from groundwater, eliminating the need to pump, treat and dispose of large volumes of water.
• Treatment of contaminated soils, manufacturing of recycled (WRAP compliant) aggregates from demolition arisings, enabling their reuse and directly reducing the need for the import of virgin materials, preventing disposal and irreversible loss of natural resources and keeping the lorries off the roads.
• Research and development in the field of bioremediation has enabled us to develop a highly efficient and targeted soil treatment additives, enabling us to tackle some of the most heavily contaminated soils, their on-site reuse and saving energy and cost of disposal to landfill.

As our company grows, we continue to focus on reducing our carbon consumption through a set list of Objectives and Targets which we regularly review and adjust to reflect new findings and available technologies.
