Last month, Cognition Land and Water’s Meridian 2 site completed an NRMM Emissions Audit, and we have received the outcome report.
NRMM stands for non-road mobile machinery, which is classified (by Cleaner Construction for London) as ‘any mobile machine or vehicle that is not solely intended for carrying passengers or goods on the road’ for example, excavators, dumpers and generators. Cognition’s Meridian 2 site was awarded an excellent non-road mobile machinery compliance certificate praising the site for “protecting neighbourhood air by using low-emission machinery”.
In the audit process, the NRMM Compliance Officer was given access to the full historic record of machinery and was provided evidenced plate checks or recordings. Cognition was found to be machinery compliant, site registered, and machinery registered. No actions were required, as our machinery was commended for going beyond compliance.
The outcome report also shared estimated emissions saving per machine type. Our 128-kw excavator was estimated to have a CO2 saving of 4108.8 g/h, our 78-kw excavator was estimated to have a CO2 saving of 5756.4 g/h and our 55-kw dumper was estimated to have a CO2 saving of 1765.5 g/h. This exemplifies Cognition’s commitment to our zero-carbon policy and the focus we place on reducing our carbon consumption throughout our works.
Well done to all the team at Meridian 2 for this great achievement!
