Having attended the RemSoc and Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) Land Condition Community Early Careers Network speed networking event, Environmental Science student from the University of Reading, Matthew Andrioli, was put in touch with our Technical Director, Andy O’Dea.
Matt would then go on to secure a summer placement at Cognition Land and Water, organised by Andy.
Reflecting on Matt’s time at Cognition, Andy commented, “We were delighted to have had Matthew with us for his placement earlier this summer. Keen to get stuck in with the Cognition team, Matt attended a staff social event in the week before his placement started. He did very well in his time with us, was hugely engaged, keen to learn and prepared some of the most insightful and focussed responses to the challenges and exercises I set him as part of the placement”.
It is Cognition’s pleasure to take on eager and driven early careers professionals and give them a taster of the real-world inner workings of a civil engineering, ground engineering and remediation contactor. We currently have a number of other placement students in our ranks, who are gaining valuable experiences that will benefit them, Cognition and the wider community.
