Cognition Land & Water is in the midst of completing a major remediation, enabling works and earthworks package at the Meridian Water SIW project in Enfield, working with Taylor Woodrow to deliver this major regeneration scheme for the local community.
Last Thursday, we were delighted to welcome the Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Ergin Erbil, to site to see the progress of this transformative regeneration project.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to showcase the significant milestones achieved so far and discuss the vision for Meridian Water - a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive development that will bring thousands of homes, jobs and opportunities to the community. Cllr Erbil told us of how he looked over the site from his bedroom window as a child and he was fascinated to hear of, and see the ongoing regeneration works. He even got to try out one of our excavators for size during the visit!
During the visit, Cllr Erbil met one of Taylor Woodrow’s young apprentices who told of the opportunities her role at Meridian Water was opening up for her and her future career in construction. We also spoke about the significant efforts both Cognition and Taylor Woodrow are putting into delivering our Social Value commitments and ‘giving back’ to the community in which we work. Indeed, Cognition are currently in the process of appointing two new candidates into project roles from the local community focussing on ethnic minority and ex-offender candidates.
The Meridian Water SIW project represents a shared commitment to creating a better future for Enfield, and we’re proud to be working closely with Taylor Woodrow and Enfield Council to bring this vision to life.
Thank you to Cllr Erbil for your continued support and for taking the time to see the impact this project will have on our borough.
