Cognition Land and Water is currently completing works at the Meridian Water SIW site in Enfield to deliver a major regeneration scheme, in partnership with Taylor Woodrow. The team on this project is deserving of huge praise and admiration for their recent responses to two medical emergencies on site.
Three of Cognition’s first aiders demonstrated exceptional professionalism and quick thinking in responding to two medical emergencies on-site. Their swift action in assessing the situation, providing immediate first aid, and coordinating with emergency services ensured that the individual received the care they needed without delay. The team's preparedness, knowledge of safety protocols, and calmness under pressure were evident throughout the entire process. It’s important to note that the medical emergencies were not related to site activities but occurred due to the individual's pre-existing health condition. Nevertheless, the team's rapid response was crucial in ensuring the person received timely medical attention.
As a result of these events, Cognition held a safety stand-down meeting a day after the second incident to talk through the incidents and share the lessons learnt.
Special recognition to our three first aid responders from our management team—Albert Brahilika, Nas Shehu, and Martin Mandev. Well done to you all!
