Stabilisation is the improvement of the geotechnical and chemical properties of a wide range of soils through the addition of a binder or additive. We have pioneered the design and application of soil stabilisation for over 15 years.

Soil stabilisation improves the engineering performance of soft cohesive deposits, expansive clays, loose granular soils and PFA through the direct blending of cementitious compounds or lime based slurries. The structure of the soil is modified and the moisture content is reduced, leading to considerable improvement in strength.

The advantages of using in-situ stabilisation techniques include cost savings of up to 50%, faster rehabilitation, maximisation of available materials, and reduction in offsite treatment or disposal. There are also the added benefits of reduced traffic, noise, dust pollution and import of virgin aggregates or concrete crush.

We have successfully applied soil stabilisation on over 150 projects of various sizes, resulting in considerable cost and programme savings – on one major project in London our work resulted in the client saving millions of pounds and hundreds of thousands of lorry movements.

All our projects are bespoke - we consider the unique project requirements and deliver a comprehensive design and performance specification. On the completion we always provide a fully audited validation report.
