We’re proud to announce the start of a complex and technically demanding works package at King’s Road Park, on behalf of St William Homes LLP.
This multifaceted scope involves two major phases:
Pile Attendance & Enabling Works
We’re providing full support to piling contractors across Phase 4, ensuring safe and efficient cart-away of materials, maintaining the pile mat to spec, and delivering core support services throughout. This includes all necessary logistics, mat design/installation, traffic management, and supervision.
Bulk Excavation & Tar Tank Removal (Block H2)
We’re preparing for the excavation of the next apartment basement. To support and contain the works area, we’ll be installing a large sheet-piled box around the footprint. Within this zone lies a significant challenge: a large, buried historical tar tank, a legacy of the site’s former life as a gasworks.
This element will need to be carefully removed, and due to the high odour risk associated with the excavation, we’ll be installing a large tent over the work area. Odour control is one of the biggest challenges on this site, and we’ll be implementing extensive measures to manage and minimise emissions throughout the works.
This tank will be fully decontaminated, removed and validated, under strict odour, vapour and contamination controls, using:
Environmental and community impact mitigation is a cornerstone of this work. We’ll be closely managing community liaison, working under a detailed Environmental Management Plan, and following strict Cadent guidelines due to the site's proximity to live gas infrastructure.
This package represents the very essence of smart remediation and technical delivery in brownfield regeneration.
We’re looking forward to working with our partners to safely deliver this critical scope.
